Italian White Bean Dip

If you love garlic and lemon as much as I do, you will love this recipe for Italian white bean dip. All you have to do is toss a few ingredients into your food processor and within a few minutes, you have a delicious, high protein dip.

This is the perfect dip to bring to a get together with family and friends, or to just keep in the fridge to use as a snack throughout the week. Think of it as “Italian hummus”.

The best part about this dip (or any dip really) is that it’s shareable and is enjoyed best when consumed surrounded by your loved ones.

Italian White Bean Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15.5 oz) of white beans (great northern beans or cannellini beans), drained and rinsed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor. Blend until smooth.
  2. Serve with your favorite vegetables or pita chips.

Note: For a thicker dip, add one less tablespoon of olive oil. For a thinner dip, add additional lemon juice until desired consistency is reached. Add salt and pepper to taste.
